p1856/p1858 Enfield Rifle "Bar on Band"

An excellent representation piece for someone wanting to put together a CS imported arms collection! CS examples are incredibly rare, and nearly impossible to come by. This rifle itself, is also hard to come by, and would make an excellent fill-in piece to show all the examples of CS enfields that were used. The bayonet and sheath are in excellent condition, and highly likely to be CS imported. Chaveese sold weapons to CS agents, making this highly likely to have been imported during the war. There are no British markings on the blade, so it was certainly not for British War Department use. As of right now, the bayonet would require fitting on the lug. It can be done, but we won't- we do know of a professional restorer that can however.
